Spring in the Mist
With the north wind usually dry and cool air flows to the Alps. On this spring morning however, the constant north wind brings relatively warm and above all humid air, which befogged the hills of the Zurich Oberland.

As I approach this linden tree on the ridge I feel the first drops of rain and under the tree I am already in a heavy drizzle. How could the weather change that fast?
Then I take a few steps away from the tree - everything is dry!

Only now do I recognize this phenomenon of local rain:
The fresh leaves of the linden tree on the ridge filter so much water that they can create their own rain zone!
